Meet 15U Black Boys Head Coach Mike Richardson

Meet 15U Black Boys Head Coach Mike Richardson

Part of a continuing series introducing DA coaches.  Look for new coaches each day.  Previously we introduced 18U Girls Black Head Coach Dwayne Cochrane, 18U Boys Black head coach Ian Eibbitt, 13U Girls coach Melonie Allin and 14U Girls Black Coach Joel Banbury, 15U Girls Black coach Kevin Hellyer, and Boys 17U Black coach Clyde Arceneaux.

Mike has been a Durham Attack coach since 2007.  A former varsity player at McMaster University, he loves to be in the gym and working with recreational and competitive athletes.  And his love for the game and devotion to developing young athletes shows in the results that his teams have accomploished.

Mike is a Level II certified coach who has a son and a daughter that played volleyball with the club, and Mike has coached both boys and girls teams ranging from 13U to 17U.  He has won three Provincial gold medals and one National gold medal with our boys and girls teams since 2009.  This past season he lead our 14U boys to the Ontario and National 14U championship, and a strong finish at the US Boys Junior National Championships in Houston.

Elsewhere in the region Mike served as Assistant Coach for Region 4 at 2009 Ontario Summer Games.

He is returning to coach at the 15U level and we’re excited to be taking last year’s 14U national champions to the next level.
