The 15u girls Chargers added another gold to their medal collection for the season.
The girls took their first game of pool play to three sets, against Venom, with a narrow loss in the third set 14 – 16. They had all the kinks worked out by the second match against Halton though, taking both sets, and creating a good point differential. Because of this, they ended pool play in first place, after Halton beat Venom in three sets.
The girls carried this momentum forward into the afternoon where they first met up with Scarborough Synergy Nitros. They took this game in two sets with scores of 25 – 20 and 25 – 14. The first set of the semifinals, with Mavericks, was a quick win with a score of 25-10. In the second set, the Mavericks fought hard and kept it close with a final score of 25 – 23.
In the finals, the girls met up with Pakmen – a team they haven’t played against in a few years. Again the girls got off to a fantastic start, ending the first set with a score of 25 – 15. Pakman wasn’t going down without a fight, and the Chargers had to dig deep to keep Pakmen from getting too much of a lead in the middle of the game. Excellent serving, great blocking, superb defence and managing to keep their cool under intense pressure helped them pull off a 25 -23 win.
Amazing job Chargers!
