Durham Attack Girls 16U Black Wins Bronze in Premier Division Tourney

The Durham Attack Black 16U girls travelled to Burlington this past weekend to compete against the top ranked Premier Division teams. The girls found themselves back in Premier Division ranked #7 after having won a gold medal in the Championship East tournament in December.

Placement put the girls in a strong pool with #1 ranked Pakmen and #6 ranked Defensa. After a tough pool play round the girls recorded a very close 13-15 loss to Pakmen in a third set and a close 15-11 third set win over Defensa. With all three teams having the same win/loss record it came down to points. The points for and against put Durham Attack in 3rd place, setting up a tough quarter final game against the “C” pool winner – the Halton Hurricanes.

The girls played excellent in a two set win over the Halton Hurricanes, winning both sets 25-21…off to the semi’s to meet the Pakmen girls.

In the semi’s the girls played well but lost in two sets to a strong Pakmen team, setting up a Bronze medal match against Defensa, who the girls had beat earlier in pool play. After a tough three set game Durham Attack Black came out on top to win a bronze medal.

Congratulations to Durham Attack 16U Black for an exciting tournament and great teamwork.
