• Durham Attack 17U Girls Win Silver at 2013 Stinger’s Invitational Tournament

    The Durham Attack 17u girls black team competed in their first tournament of the year, the pre-season Markham Stingers Invitational on Sunday November 3rd. The new look Attack team, with six returning and six new players won their pool without dropping a set by defeating Barrie Elites, V-United and Peterborough Thunder.

    In the semi-final, the Attack won in two straight sets over a competitive Markham Stingers 16u team.

    The final pitted DA against last year’s National West Champions, Forest City Green. The first set was a back and forth affair with Forest City taking it 25-20. In the second set, Forest City built up a sizeable lead, however, DA fought back with 7 straight points to tie the match at 19. Forest City went on to win the second set 25-20 and take home the gold medal.

    Coach Marius and assistant coach Breigh were pleased with the teams Silver medal performance in their first tournament of the season.
