Neill, Troy : Boys 17U Red Head Coach

    Neill, Troy

    Boys 17U Red Head Coach

Troy has been involved in coaching youth sports for more than 18 years. He has been with Durham Attack for more than 6 years and is a very strong developmental volleyball coach, teaching our athletes not only solid technical skills and foundations, but also soft skills related to team work, drive and focus that athletes must have to be successful. He is a very passionate individual and his #1 priority is the development of the player, both on and off court.

Troy has a background in Psychology/Sociology and has undergone additional training in Sports Psychology / Youth Sports Psychology and applied team dynamics, ensuring the athletes work together, not against one another. He is certified Level 1 instructor and will have his level 2 hours completed this season.

A strong cohesive team of respectful athletes is very key in Troy’s coaching style and philosophies. Troy has a highly competitive spirit, and while a very competitive player himself, does not let that rule his decisions for the players on court. Troy’s first priority is the players having confidence in themselves, feeling like they truly are an important part of the team. Troy sets both technical skill and behavioural goals for the players and team each year that are achievable and ensures that players and coaches are aligned toward the goal.
