14U Spitfires win Gold in Thornhill

14U Spitfires win Gold in Thornhill

On Saturday, January 26th the 14U Spitfire boys brought home the gold for Durham Attack! The boys started the day strong by winning their pool in the morning. The fantastic teamwork they demonstrated the previous weekend in Rochester carried through to this tournament and helped them to win 10/11 sets.

After a long lunch break, the boys were up against the Kingston Cats. Lunch must have been sitting heavy as it took 3 sets to break through and win this match. Next up were the Barrie Elites. The boys held a commanding lead in both sets and headed into the finals.

The final match against the Markham Revolution Rebels was a real nail biter! The 2 teams matched each other point for point through the first set with the Spitfires pulling out a 25-23 win. Heading into the 2nd set the boys kept their focus and with strong encouragement from their teammates and parents on the sidelines brought home a win with a final score of 25-22. The crowd went wild as the boys celebrated!

Thank you to all of the parents who were out to support the team, and to Coaches Adam, Maddy and Frobisher for their hard work with the boys. Congratulations Spitfires!
