14U Girls Extreme take Gold at Provincials

First off,  a huge congratulations to all of the 14U Extreme Girls, Coach Peach, Coach Cal, and Coach Jess on your Division II Tier I Gold Medal. It’s hard to believe the season has already to come to an end. This year seemed to fly by; it definitely doesn’t feel like seven months ago our girls were trying out for the team. All of the practices, team building, mental training and tournaments were all in preparation for the grand finale at the Ontario Championships in Waterloo. There are many words I could use to describe these girls, and the heart they displayed over the three days of watching them play, but the first word that came to mind was WARRIORS.

The girls faced numerous ups and downs throughout the weekend only losing one match and going to six 3 set matches. Extreme faced a tough Scarborough Titan Ares in the last match on the second, day winning a close three-setter. We didn’t know at the time, but that match would be a preview of the gold medal match. It took 3 more 3 set matches to get to the finals, but the girls did it.  Extreme and Titan Ares battled in the finals back and forth, both teams playing amazing, but the scrappy Extreme team decided to end the 3rd set and claim the Division II Tier I title. Extreme thanks to Titan Ares on a great match and silver medal, and thanks to the entire Extreme family for a great season.

Good luck at your final stop in the USA at the Sunshine Showdown.
