14U Explosion Fight Hard at 14U Challenge Cup

The girls of 14U Explosion made the long drive to St. Catharines to play in the 14U Challenge Cup.  The tournament was set with some of the toughest teams that they come across so far.  This would be a great test for them.

Their first game was against South Country Bandits.  Explosion started off strong and kept the pressure on and won in two sets.  The next game was against Halton Hurricanes Black.  The game went back and forth with the lead changing hands many times, but in the end, the girls lost in two sets.

It was time for lunch and to regroup.  Their first cross-over game was against Etobicoke Titans Helios.  The girls played hard and won the first set.  The second set went back and forth, with the lead changing many times, but in the end, the girls lost the second set.  The girls now had to play a third set.  The third set was a nail-biter with the lead going back and forth.  The girls played well but lost the third set.

This set up the final match of the day against Aurora Storm Tsunami.  The girls regrouped and stayed calm.  They played their game and won in two sets.

The win gave the 14U Explosion the right to say in the Premier division and face stronger teams in order to improve.

Congratulations girls, you played hard, faced adversity and came out better.

As parents, we were all so proud of you.
