13UDA Black Panthers make debut at Girls 14U Provincial Cup

The Panthers played their first ever game at the Girls 14U Provincial Cup in Markham.  The teams at this tournament had more experience than the teams they played the week before.

The first match was with Scarborough Titans Menace 13U.  The Panthers lost the match in two sets.  I’m sure nerves played a part.

Next they went on to play Georgetown Impact Red.  The girls regrouped and won the match in two sets.  The win placed them second in their pool.

The quarter-final match was with Pegasus.  The girls played hard and won the match in two sets.  The win set up a semi-final with Scarborough Synergy Dynamite.  The Panthers fought valiantly but in the end the Dynamite’s serves were overwhelming.  The Panthers lost in two sets.

The loss put the Panthers in the Bronze medal match with Scarborough Titans Menace 13U.  They had played this team earlier in the day.  The first set was taken by Scarborough 25 – 7.  The Panthers fought back and rallied in the second set, but in the end, lost 25-20.

The Panthers placed 4th, just missing out on a Bronze medial.  The day was full of ups and downs with opportunities for both celebration and growth.

Well done girls.  From all the parents, we are proud of you.
